In General Discussion
Before buying NBA 2K23, many might wonder whether the game will incorporate some features never seen before in the franchise. This article will discuss NBA 2K23's multiplayer co-op, cross-platform play, cross-gen, and cross-progression features. Will NBA 2K23 Have Multiplayer Co-op? Yes, NBA 2K23 will have a multiplayer co-op of up to three players. A co-op function has been added to MyTEAM that will allow you to partner with two other friends to play in a party of three. For the first time, Triple Threat Online mode will allow players to the co-op for 3v3. Is NBA 2K23 Crossplay? NBA 2K23 will not have cross-play, and 2K has confirmed that cross-platform between PC, consoles, and Switch will not be available. It is only possible to play with people on the same console as you. Is NBA 2K23 Cross-Gen? NBA 2K23 does not have cross-gen multiplayer. Players in the previous console generation cannot play with the current console gen. This is because NBA 2K23 editions are different for each console generation. If you want to play multiplayer with friends, you'll have to play in the same console family and generation. Does NBA 2K23 Have Cross-Progression? NBA 2K23 does have cross-progression for MyTEAM but only on the same console family. This means that your progress cannot be carried over to different platforms but can be carried between each console gen, provided they're the same console family. Thanks to MyTEAM Cross-Progression, you can carry over your MyTeam progress, virtual currency, tokens, and cards. You will be able to transfer your progress from current generation consoles to previous gen consoles as well.
